Mira Mesa 9-11-23
Mira Mesa 9-11-23 Contractor: Down to Earth dtelandscape.com
Here is what I saw Monday 9-11-23 at Mira Mesa.
You will see several greens that have been chewed up from a mower that has a bad blade bearing. The worker sees this immediately and should stop to get the mower repaired. The Superintendent has failed to train his employees to do the right thing.
More issues with cutting the greens. First the greens were not cut around the outside edge. Second you see different heights being cut in the different directions. The fringe was also not cut.
You also see some areas where the grass is dying.
Many poorly cut cups.
It wouldn't take much time to spray the cracks that need it.
Goose Grass (weeds) between the trap and green on the second hole.
Mowing issues on the second green.
This miss cut cup is a low spot that needs repair. It just won't rise by itself to be level. The darker green results from it being lower than the green surface and the mower cannot get to it.
Why doesn't the Superintendent see this and have it repaired?
Weeds in the landscaping.
Broken sprinkler in a high visibility area. All of the maintenance workers drive by this spot. Has anybody said anything to the Superintendent ?
This weed is fairly large standing currently over 2 feet. It is called Common Nightshade.
This weed is either a Dayflower or Blue Commelina. The application is having a hard time with this one.
The 3rd fairway is loaded with Goose Grass around the 150 yard marker.
Then inside 100 yards is a large area of Nutgrass.
This is Nutgrass. It likes to spread with runners under the surface of the soil.
4th green
This weed is called Hyssop-leaf Sandmat.
Stuff growing in the cracks
5th green is dying.
This vine is what you see above. It is called Bitter Gourd.
This weed or bush is called Northern Bush Honeysuckle.
I did not think that you envisioned these landscape areas to be weed and debris collectors.
It looks like the 8th hole still has drainage issues following the renovation.
This cup replacement is now a dead spot on the green.
This is one of two large areas on the 9th green that are dead or dying.
