Hawkes Bay 9-14-23       Contractor: Down to Earth     dtelandscape.com

Hello Mitch,
Here is what I saw Thursday 9-14-23 Golfing at Hawks Bay.

The greens are in the best shape that I have seen them.  Maybe rate them a "C".

The contractor has started to cut a fringe.
A number of the greens still have small areas of damage that did not fill in over the growing season.
You see a small damaged spot in the picture.
Lots of small weeds that need to be killed before they get bigger.
Cup cutting has gotten a lot better.  There is still some work to do.
The greens have areas of thin grass which is reflective of the lack of consistent fertilization through the growing season.

Traps have issues.
The traps are not being groomed on a M-W-F schedule.
You see the weeds/grass growing right in the middle of the trap.

Grass areas like fairways and rough are not being mowed at the correct frequency.

The grass was too long.  Lots of cut grass on all of the cart paths which by the contract is a no no.

Lots of clumping grass clipping all around the course, again a contractual no no.

The ever present cart path lake.  It will be nice when you install the drain to the nearby pond.

I think most of these weeds in the greens are goose grass.

Most of the old cups are healing in just fine.  Maybe the fill in cutter needs more training and supervision.

I don't think there is a treatment for this.

Here is a example of thin grass on the green.  These greens did not heal and thicken up during the growing season.  No Fertilizer !!!

Well ..... a picture says a lot.

I am told this is the result of a bad bearing on the mower.  The equipment is chopping up the tee box.

Clumps of grass on the course.
