Escambia 11-13-23

Here is what I saw at Escambia on Monday 11-13-23.

Ugly
Weedy
Chopped up
Neglected
Malnourished

Dollar weeds are thick in the fringe and have spread into the green.

This course may be the Dollar weed capital of The Villages.

There are issues with cup cutting.

The traps look sharp.  Clearly the best part of the course.

This cute little weed is called Romerillo.  It is located a few steps off of the cart path near green side parking.

Where the landscape beds were next to the cart path, pine straw covered up to a 12 inches of the cart path.

Pine straw was only spread at the front edges of the beds leaving 20 to 30 feet of beds without pine straw.

This green has a number of patches of sedge.

Another ugly tee box.

Repairs in the works.

Here they are spraying what looked like Goose Grass.

There were several greens like this.  The path around the outside edge of the green was cut lower than the inside.  I am not sure how you do this, unless they are using two different mowers to cut the greens.

The two golf balls are about 20 feet off of the green.  The silvery looking area is a thick Dollar Weeds patch.  Most of the area is about 6 inches deep which means it has not been mowed in a very long time.

Different colored tee markers.

Patches of weeds in the green.
