De La Vista 11-11-23 Contractor: Down to Earth dtelandscape.com
Here is what I saw Saturday 11-11-23 at De La Vista.
Did someone run into the sign with their cart?
This first tee box had new sod put on it not too long ago. It has not been taken care of as you can see.
Tee boxes have been fertilized recently as the fertilizer is visible.
Lots of weeds in most of the tee boxes.
First green looks great. Tremendous improvement from where they were.
This green has a lot of ball marks that have not been repaired.
Very few weeds are in any of the greens. Now just off of the greens that is a different story.
This is an area on the second green that is very Sick still. Down to Earth has been able to fix this Sickness at Chula, but not here.
It is up to the Regional Superintendent for Down to Earth to bring consistency to the courses and they are not getting the job done.
This does not look good at all. That is why the contract states that there should not be any piles of grass laying anywhere.
Another troubled tee box.
This area is half way between tee and green. It is a Zero traffic area that is being completely neglected. There are lots of similar neglected area like this which is why Bud refers to this as golfing on a cow pasture.
Another Sick green.
Cutting cups is poor at best. Here it was set too low. It is a hole. It will never rise up by itself. It needs to be cut out and raised by a human.
Here again Chula is doing a much better job. The Regional Superintendent needs to train this Superintendent in how to do his job.
I know this is not the contractor's responsibility. But they do look pretty bad. Needs some new paint.
Great idea, however I think it needs to be placed next to the right tee marker as you look at the green. It might get used if it is closer.
The Dead tree is still there. I think the contract states that Down to Earth is responsible for replacing it. What are you waiting for?
The Spicket has dirt and bacteria on it.
Grass runners are in a number of the traps.
The traps are not groomed.
Here is a scalped plug. It was set too high and the mower scalped it.
Weeds in the tee box.
This landscape area is just in front of the 5th tee box.
Weeds have taken over.
Lots of low hanging moss. I believe the contract states that the moss is to removed .
There are 7 or 8 old cup plugs visible in a small area which means the green is not growing. The green needs to grow to heal itself.
Same green as above. Another Sick area.
That sign is still there and I believe it is on the golf course property.
Then there is the lack of grass that these residents have to look at everyday. Total neglect by Down to Earth. And a violation of the terms of their contract.
The mower got half of this one.
This sitting area by the 8th tee box has been cleaned up very nicely. Looks great !
Not horrible, but still Sick.
