Silver Lake 10-5-23 Contractor: Down to Earth dtelandscape.com
Hello Mitch,
Here is what I saw playing golf at Silver Lake Thursday 10-5-23.
It has only been 10 days since I last played at Silver Lake.
The greens are in pretty good shape.
Very few weeds.
Few damaged areas.
You will see that they have not yet healed from being chopped up by the mower 10 days ago.
They still do a poor job of cutting cups. They did not use the cup setter on at least one hole to level the cup rim.
This is new damage. I did not see any traps set out.
These dollar weeds are on the second tee box. They have been showing up in my pictures for over a year now.
The tee boxes have been fertilized.
They still have a lot of weeds.
The grass has come a long way on this tee box, but it still has a ways to go.
3rd hole tee box
This plant is in the landscaping just off of the 3rd tee box. My plant identifier says it is Sweetbay Magnolia, but the program does not have a high confidence level.
We do know that it should not be in there.
Some Goose Grass (weeds) at the edge of the green.
They are to wash and sanitize the water coolers daily and clearly they are not.
They are not keeping up with the edging.
This golfer parks 6 inches off of the fringe after I told him he needs to stay 30 feet away from the green. He was added to our group as we were only a threesome. I found out from the ambassador that this guy does this all of the time. He does not care. He also knows that nobody is going to do anything to him.
I understand that the developer wants The Villages to be the Friendliest Hometown in America. Dealing with people that don't want to follow the rules is not going to have a negative impact on the image of being a Friendly community. The police still write tickets for those who choose to speed.
6th tee box
I think the homeowner sprayed the weeds and grass. It is just behind his house from one property line to the other.
What a poor lazy job of laying sod
I turned it upside down so you could see that it is broken.
A number of the tee boxes had this painted on the edge. I have no idea why.
This is a Health Department Violation.
I would like to note that the wood that was piled around the tree by the 4th tee box had been removed.
That is it from Silver Lake.
