Sandhill 10-26-23 Contractor: Down to Earth dtelandscape.com
Here is what I saw Thursday 10-26-23 at Sandhill.
Down to Earth is doing a great job with the greens. Fertilizing the greens does work. The greens rolled as nice as Orange Blossom did yesterday. They still need to work on the cup cutting. Weeds have been eliminated in large part.
There is a big improvement in controlling the weeds in the landscaping areas. There is still some work to do. This picture also shows that the pine straw is in need of replacement.
Here a worker was a little careless with the mower. You see minimal weeds in this picture.
This area was located at the top of the first green. It was the only area like this on any of the greens. I counted six greens back on April 15 that had damage like this. Nice improvement.
This picture shows how green the greens are. It would be special if the rest of the turf on the course looked like this.
The traps were all groomed and in good shape. There is the issue of surrounding turf. Other than tees and greens, the rest of the turf on this golf course is in need of regular fertilizer applications.
Here is a Zero traffic area like hundreds of others that needs help because of neglect.
Some baby Goose Grass along the edge of the green. It seems in Florida that every weed seed will germinate. They need to kill them while they are small.
Tee boxes.
Some tee boxes have been fertilized and are responding by filling in.
Some tee boxes look like they have been missed by the fertilizer. This just not make any sense.
The right side of this picture looks way different than the left side.
They have some work to do in terms of weed control on the tee boxes.
