Chula Vista 10-16-23       Contractor: Down to Earth     dtelandscape.com

Hello Mitch,

This is what I saw golfing at Chula Vista Saturday 10-21-23.

Not much has changed in the five days since I played Chula Vista last.

The greens were just sanded with a very course sand.  I thought a fine sand should be used when sanding a green.

It is Saturday and the greens should have been mowed, but they were not.  The fourth picture below shows lots of piles of dirt which would not have been there it the greens were cut.

Tee boxes are in very rough shape.

You spent $5,000 putting sod down this past summer.  You could have spent another $15,000 sodding or asked the contractor to grow grass.  What a novel idea, a golf course maintenance contractor actually growing grass.

Here is the green with all of the dirt piles.  Several other greens had the dirt piles also.

This is a first.  At least we know this worker used the cup setter.

So is this poor training.  Or "I don't care".   Or I cannot see as it is dark out here.

Rough.

Needs some grooming.

Maybe more sod is needed here.

I believe that if you keep the grass healthy around the traps they will be less likely to fall apart on the edges.

The sand was put on thick.  You can see more of the dirt piles on this green.

The greens rolled a little slow today.

You can see the large grains of sand on my putter.

This weed is called Japanese Hawksbeard and is located next to a bench.

Another rough tee box.

That is it from Chula Vista.
