Mira Mesa 5-14-23

Mira Mesa 5-14-23       Contractor: Down to Earth     dtelandscape.com

Here is what I saw Sunday 5-14-23 at Mira Mesa.

These are the bumpiest greens in the villages.  And they just sanded them.  They need to be rolled.

Hole 1

Tee boxes are already showing wear.  The new grass seems to be more durable, but Down to Earth needs to take care of them.

The fringe is loaded with some sort of invasive weed/grass.

Sitting high above the green.  The superintendent needs to have this repaired.

None of the traps have been groomed.  The sand is hard and crusted over.  The traps need to be edged.  The monthly edging has been missed since the course reopened in February

A lot of cracks need to be sprayed.

Hole 2

All of the yardage markers need to be edged.  It should be a weekly job now that the grass is growing.

All of the greens have a big issue with cutting of the cups.

Hole 3

40 yards off of the green.  Where is the grass?  Brand new ???  Carts are driving on the waste area to the left.

If you look closely you will see at least 4 different types of weeds.  This is located next to the 3rd green.

Hole 4

Poor design or poor installation ???  In either case it is a mess.

This is clearly poor maintenance.

Hole 5

This is a picture of the green.  Very bumpy !  To me there is a weird growing pattern to the grass.  Maybe that goes away when the greens are rolled.

Dollar weeds in the landscaping just behind the 5th green.

Just tons of weeds and grass growing in the landscape areas all over this course.

Hole 6

Rough area between tee and green.  It needs grass to be called "rough".  Most of the golfers are playing their second shots from areas like this.

Lots of leaves in the trap.  They blow there because they never get picked up.

Hole 7

Walking to the tee and you see this mess.

Forward tee box is a mess.  A brand new mess.  Down to Earth has proved that it does not take long to mess a good thing up.

Hole 8

This area was installed for carts to turn around in.  Just like the 4th hole, is this design or installation.  Clearly a mess.

Hole 9

The 8th green had these marking as well.  Chemical burns ???

Lots of annual crab grass going to seed all over the course.  This is located next to the 9th green.
