Here is what I saw Saturday 5-13-23 at Hawkes Bay.

The greens are in horrible shape. Yes they have killed most of the weeds on the greens. However, there is lots of dying areas on the greens from maybe nematodes. The employee cutting cups is doing a bad job. The superintendent is not having the poorly set cup plugs re-set. Too many are too high and should be repaired.

Hole 6 is a water hole and there is no drop area. Now I am wondering if there was a drop area on number 5.

Bunkers are in poor shape. They were not groomed. They have not been edged in a long time. Lots of leaves accumulating in the bunkers.

Lots of debris on the course. They blow it off of the playing area, but they don't pick it up. Then it blows back into the bunkers.

Hole 1

Dead areas on the green. You cannot putt through this mess.

The traps were not groomed. Lots of leaf debris in the traps. The traps all need to be edged as there are a lot of grass runners.

Hole 2

Tee box doesn't look too good.

Grass runners. Needs to be edged.

Hole 3

Tee box chopped up.

Not sure what the white circles are. Doesn't look healthy.

Forever drainage issue.

Hole 4

This is a different type of grass on the green. See how high it is. Your ball jumps when it goes over it and slows down. Lots of this at Truman.

Your ball jumps when it hits one of these high plugs. This could be repaired by taking it out and removing a little sand and replacing it. Why don't they do this ?
