Hawkes Bay 11-2-23 Contractor: Down to Earth dtelandscape.com
Hello Mitch,
Here is what I saw Thursday 11-2-23 Golfing at Hawks Bay.
The greens just keep getting better and better.
Some of the greens are pretty weed free while others have a little work to do.
Cup cutting has improved to a point where it is not an issue here anymore.
The greens could be rolled as the balls do jump a little too much.
Most of the greens have a coloration issue in that there are sections that are dark green, while there are large areas of light green. It seems that there is an inconsistency in fertilization, but I don't really know except that I did not see that at Orange Blossom yesterday.
Here you see the darker green to the right side.
This tee box had a lot of goose grass just off the box. The box itself was pretty weed free.
There are a number of tee boxes that still have a weed issue.
The lake is gone thanks to the new drain that you installed.
Here are a few weeds in a green that need to be cleaned up.
Another example of the dark green on the far side of the green and a light green where the golfers are walking.
This is a rough tee box. There is a small section on the other side of the golfer that had been fertilized and is green.
There are some weeds besides being dried our, worn and starved for food.
This is the forward tee right in front of the one above. Some green and the rest is a mess. Lots of weeds.
I do not understand the inconsistency.
This is a sod patch/repair job on the forward tee pictured above. The sod is dead from not being watered. It is a tee box how can you not water it and let it dye.
The weeds in the greens are not that bad. You see a few here that need to killed.
This is on a green.
This landscaping area has always been in need of help.
This weed is called Redflower Ragleaf.
This is the first of two holes that do not have "Drop Areas" that should. Are you short of signs?
So who decides where "Drop Areas" are to be used? Certainly it is not up the maintenance folks to make that decision.
This green has a fairly large area of thin grass.
A crack that needs to be cleaned out. Also a pile of cut grass that did not get blown off.
Edging is needed.
This green has a thin grass area that also has a Crab grass weed in it.
The 8th and 9th holes had weeds that had been sprayed.
Keep it up.
This tee box had a mower that was out of adjustment.
